Lore: Otto joins Bortco
It was April of 2021, Dooder and I had decided to host an in person meetup to celebrate both my birthday and 1 year of streaming The Nurse Huckleberry Show on Twitch. Where was the ideal location? Dave and Buster's of course. We gathered up a small gang of folks and went socially distanced to the barcade for drinks, snacks and some overpriced gameplay. It was really awesome! We had a small but mighty crew and really just had fun getting to know everyone.
As we were calling it an evening we went to the prize room to see what fantastic options awaited. It was fate that I happened to stumble across two young sharks Jerome and Otto also searching for prizes. We chatted and they told me they were starving actors just looking for their next big break.
We couldn't offer much but said they were welcome to audition for the show, maybe do a couple guest episodes and see how things felt. Jerome was up first, a sleek grey shark with fierce eyes and a gravelly voice. While Jerome was a nice enough shark he was a heavy smoker and his habits were just not sustainable at the studio. Jerome was offered a contract working with the Discovery channel and jumped at the opportunity for a great outdoor gig.
Otto stepped up to bat and knocked it out of the park. He was an almost immediate hit, he took a few weeks to get his land legs but has been an absolutely integral part of the show ever since. We have learned so much about his time at culinary school (graduated top of his class) about his french mother who was always a bit distant and of course about his favorite foods, horse meat and sharkies cookies!
Otto has found his way into the hearts of so many, a kind, sweet and funny soul with a bit of attitude and a lot of whimsy. He is everyone's favorite diva and an entertainer extraordinaire.
Since joining The Nurse Huckleberry Show, Otto has doled out advice on shark culture and cooking, become best friends with Dooder, fallen in love with Sylvia and reunited with his old schoolmate Rudy to create his own spin off show!
Please share your fondest memories with Otto in the comments!
